Background and Professional Qualifications
I am a qualified counsellor and I hold a BSc (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling with a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute, Ealing, London..
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I work in accordance to their ethical framework. I am professionally supervised by a qualified supervisor as part of my commitment to ethical practice.
I am a member of the Metanoia Institute professional association.
As well as my own practice, I worked as a counsellor for Bereft Bereavement support for the London Borough of Ealing, supporting people and working through the process of mourning and grief, ensuring emotional and physical wellbeing .
Previously I have worked for the Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (MCPS) in Ealing, where I supported people with a variety of issues, their mental health and wellbeing.
I have always gained a deep satisfaction working with people and I worked in retail training and management until I set up my own interior design business 10 years ago. Through this work with people on a one-to-one basis I became particularly interested in the need to have an understanding of individuals, their underlying issues, stresses and confusions and this underpinned my decision to train as a counsellor.
Personal Approach
As a Humanistic counsellor the philosophy underpinning my work incorporates ideas and theories from various inspirational psychologists.
I place the relationship between myself and client at the heart of my ethical and effective humanistic practice, as this in its self is a powerful healing tool.
I will hold a space in which it is safe to open up difficult topics for you. I see my approach as empathic, creative and without judgement and with an intent to understand your challenges and issues.
I am here to support and work with you, so you can feel more secure and content and find the path that is right for you in your life.
Bereavement and loss
I have a personal interest in working with bereavement and loss although my practice is not limited to this.
Bereavement is the natural and painful process of grieving that follows the loss of a loved one. It affects people on every level: emotional, spiritual and physical. The recovery and healing process is unique to each individual as is the time it takes to heal. I can help you explore your loss and start adjusting to your changed future.
I have worked with clients who have lost someone close to them; who have experienced a suicide in the family; who have suffered sudden trauma and loss.
I am experienced in both short term counselling and longer open-ended counselling, for clients who feel they need to do more in-depth work.
